The first production EVOlution is complete!
This EVO marks the beginning of a new era, not only for Hoverstream, but the entire hovercraft community. It represents many “firsts” for its class in the hovercraft industry (manufactured, 4 person ‘light’ hovercraft). To my knowledge, it is the first production hovercraft to be 100% CAD designed. The entire machine has been fully modeled and documented in 3D, and the vast majority of components were produced on modern, high tech CNC equipment.
EVO is the first to have a body entirely constructed with vacuum infused composite panel technology; something typically reserved for things like aerospace parts. Normally, lighter weight means a trade-off in strength. But, as we’ve shown in previous videos, the end result is a MASSIVELY stronger and lighter hull than the traditional hand laid mat fiberglass. ate to get your hovercraft in the order queue!
The final dry weight for this machine came in at only 690 pounds (312kg). That is absolutely outstanding for a hovercraft this size and over 100lbs less than our previous generation Coastal Pro 2.
EVO is ridiculously quiet; much quieter than our previous generation CP2 (which was already the quietest production hovercraft in the world). Everyone who has seen EVO in person, even current CP2 owners, have commented on the incredibly low sound level.
There are plenty of other innovations as well. The unique steering configuration that automatically adds roll to turns, the integrated LED lighting setup, built in storage cubbies and dry boxes, full windscreen protection for pilot, high end professional quality 4 stroke engines… the list goes on but I’ll stop there.
Several have asked whether we’re taking orders. Yes, they’ve been open for some time now and there is a queue. They are being built to order and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. If you’re considering getting your own EVOlution, you’ll want to start asking questions well ahead of your desired delivery date to get your hovercraft in the order queue!
